Destination: Everywhere - 1/25/08 - One Day to Departure
In just about 24 hours, I hit the road with Far From Finished, a Boston-based punk band with a Leslie speaker.
A title and a single sentence hardly an entry make, but I am glad it survived two years of inactivity. Yes, Destination: Everywhere was going to be a blog based on my travels with Far From Finished on a five-week cross-country tour. I kept a journal on the road, but never bothered to post any of it. On the road, Internet access and privacy were scarce. When it was all over, I was suffering from a sinus infection and a broken heart. I lost all incentive to edit and publish my writing from the tour.
Fast forward a couple years, and I find myself wanting to write. Maybe it's the call of 2010 and/or maybe it's inspiration from blogs that I follow. Whatever it is, I am compelled to start again. I mean it this time.
To help keep me organized, I decided I would separate my identity into three categories and try to keep three separate blogs for each topic: 1000 Miles will be about my traveling, whether to exotic lands or just through the wheel of life; Inner Loop will be related to music, whether something I'm generating or simply listening to; Bust a Cap will be about beer, beverages, and food, but mainly beer. I hope you find one of these general topics to captivate your interest enough to keep you coming back for more; I would confidently say they are my three greatest interests, in no particular order.
As my good friend Lao Tzu famously said, "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step." Here's to first steps.
